I finally got to meet Alison and Alex this weekend, after all of the crazy weather caused us to reschedule a few times! We finally got a bright and sunny day, and were able to meet for their VMFA and Libby Hill engagement session! I have been so excited to get to meet these two in person.
Alison and Alex have been together for 7 years now! They’ve experienced college, grad school, and raising their two little dogs together. They love getting to enjoy board games and movies while hanging out with their friends! On a fateful visit to the outer banks with Alex’s family, Alex took Alison out for a walk on the beach where he popped the question. Alison, of course, said yes! Even sweeter, Alex managed to get Alison’s dad to come down for the occasion to celebrate with them after.
Alison and Alex are both really into music, and share that passion with each other! They listen to so many different kinds of music, but classic rock has their heart. The Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead are two favorites of this laid back couple! They love getting to collect records together, and have a whole music room dedicated to their collection. When I got to video chat with Alison for the first time, Alex was right outside the car picking up a rare find at a record store! Wanting to showcase their shared love for music at their wedding, they came up with the most unique way to incorporate it. They are going to make record label wedding invitations, which I am just SO excited to see! I love seeing all of the creative ways that couples personalize their wedding, and this is such a unique idea!
I had such a great time getting to know Alison and Alex better at their session. Alison did an amazing job coordinating their outfits, we had a great time exploring the VMFA sculpture garden, and then Libby Hill Park! The sunlight of golden hour was just stunning, and really highlighted the joy in their smiles. The way Alison and Alex smile at each other makes me so happy for them! They are the best of friends, and just love getting to enjoy every second of life together. Alison and Alex, congratulations again, and I can’t wait for your wedding in April 2022!
