Emile and Becket | Richmond Wedding Photographer
I knew that Emile and Beckett envisioned a 1950’s style engagement session, and my lord did they hit that on the nail! These two have been best friends for over 10 YEARS and are finally getting married! I love hearing stories of long time friendships turned relationships, and I’m just so giddy for these two! I’ve had so much fun getting to know them and their theater personalities. They are both die-hard theater people, and have both worked together on a plethora of different shows. Beckett was actually Emile’s stage manager for quite some time! Since theater is obviously such a huge passion they share, they really wanted to go all out for their engagement session!
It was so funny to hear them apologize for their set up when I arrived, commenting that they knew it was very extra. I LOVE it when couples get super into their session and what they want to do with it! There is not such thing as too much when it comes to engagement sessions, and the more unique ways you can think of that allow you to show your personality, the better. I myself am quite a planner, and I joked with them that I would probably be JUST as over the top for my own engagement session. Not only did these two create an entire beautifully styled picnic, but Emile’s mom handmade her stunning skirt! She also hand made Beckett’s matching tie, and Emile’s bandanna. They put so much work into this, and it just really showcases their personalities and let them have fun!
Not only was this picnic and 50’s aesthetic absolutely dreamy, it just really shows off the uniqueness of their relationship. Do you see those adorable soda pop bottles in their picnic basket? They both run a podcast together where they review crazy different types of soda pops that come in glass bottles! How cool is that?? Getting these guys to laugh and relax was just so easy with their adorable chemistry. They are so fun loving and care free, and I just can’t wait for their wedding in September! Here are a few of my favorites from their session!
