Some of you may know that I had the WONDERFULL opportunity to participate in Richmond Animal Care and Control’s Thanksgiving Foster Program! I’ve always grown up with doggos in the family, and have absolutely fallen in love with Pit Bulls! I’ve learned a lot about them from my step mom, who fostered a lot of Pit Bulls while I was in high school. I got to foster my own Pittie for the first time in college, and as heartbreaking as it was to let him go, I’m so glad to know that he’s finally in his forever home.
As much as I desperately want to adopt every homeless dog there is, I know that with my school and work schedule, that is not a possibility. However, the second I heard that RACC was doing a week long fostering program over Thanksgiving, I knew I had to give a doggo some love for the week! Immediately, I met Beau Beau, and absolutely fell in love! I mean my gosh, is this not the face of a good boy or what?? Better yet, this good boy got adopted, before the end of our week together!
Of course, with the recent news of Tommie, my heart was absolutely shattered, along with everyone else in the community. I couldn’t believe that there was someone that heartless, and who could do what they did to a helpless animal. As heartbreaking as it is to constantly try to educate people about how great Pit Bulls really are, it was so refreshing to see everyone in the community come together to fight for Tommie. The overwhelming community response has been amazing, and the staff at Richmond Animal Care and Control did absolutely everything they could for this doggo. In honor of Tommie, I will be offering Furry Friend Mini Sessions on April 27th at Gaines Mill Battle Field! Sessions will be 20 minutes long, and you will receive an online gallery with ALL of the edited images! Sessions will be $60, with $25 from each session going straight the Richmond Animal Care and Control Foundation.
