HEY! I'M

The Mill at Fine Creek Wedding | Charlotte & Ben

A Summer Wedding at The Mill at Fine Creek | Powhatan Wedding Photographer

Ben and Charlotte finally tied the knot under a canopy of twinkling lights at their Mill at Fine Creek Wedding! I’ve been so excited to get to photograph at this venue, and it was the perfect backdrop for their gorgeous day! Their summer wedding was a beautiful celebration of love and support, with so many of their closest friends and family present. The morning was a flurry of getting ready, and before they knew it, it was time for Ben and Charlotte’s first look!

You could feel Ben’s eagerness and excitement as he waited to see Charlotte. When he finally got to turn around, his face was beaming! The two smiled and exclaimed as they took in each other’s looks. They then exchanged letters to one another, which resulted in giggles from them both as they read to themselves! Ben opened his gift from Charlotte, to reveal a special guitar pick. Charlotte had it engraved with their wedding date, and placed it in a special wooden box that said “I will always pick you.” Ben gifted Charlotte a beautiful pair of earrings from her favorite jewelry designer, Kendra Scott. She loved them so much, she immediately had to put them on! Ben proudly mentioned the fact that the rose gold earrings matched her engagement ring, as we made our way to the creek for some portraits.

After some amazing wedding party portraits with their spectacular group, it was time to relax with some air conditioning before the ceremony! Guests admired the stunning views of, “The Ruins,” as they took their seats for the ceremony. Finally, the wedding party took their places, as Ben stood ready for Charlotte. Grinning ear to ear, Charlotte’s father, Tom, walked her down the aisle. Ben and Charlotte held each other’s hands and exchanged the most joyful grins, before turning their attention to their officiant. Their officiant spoke of the importance of love, honor, faith, and tenderness in a marriage. Ben and Charlotte each vowed to bring faith, love, and joy to their marriage and to be consoling, understanding, and forgiving to one another. The two exchanged their rings, and then shared in First Communion together. Finally, guests erupted in cheers and applause as Charlotte and Ben were announced Mr. and Mrs. Robinson!

The two were introduced to a room full of applause as everyone made their way to the reception space! Charlotte and Ben shared a sweet first dance to, “Joy of My Life,” by Chris Stapleton, followed by some tear jerking parent dances. Guests enjoyed a few laughs and wise words from Tom, and Ben’s father, Jim, during toasts. Charlotte’s Maid of Honor, Rachel, shared her appreciation of the couple’s faith, and the way they support and balance each other. Ben’s friend Toni shared how much she loves that, “Charlotte lets Ben be passionately himself.”

Everyone made their way to the reception space, and Ben and Charlotte were introduced to a room full of applause! (I can’t remember if they did “fun” entrances). Their reception space was sprinkled with beautiful, whimsical florals amongst the tables under twinkling lights.

Toasts: Toni, one of Ben’s lifelong friends, shared how much she loves how “Charlotte lets Ben be passionately himself.”

Ben and Charlotte cut their cake, and it was time for the party to start! There was no denying that their guests came to dance, and the huge crowd on the dancefloor had a blast the entire night! The night ended with a fantastic bubble exit, with guests cheering for Charlotte and Ben as they made their way out of the venue and towards their new life as husband and wife.

Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, and I hope you are enjoying the first few days of being newlyweds!
