Met Shelby and Bryan! They’ve been engaged for almost 2 years, and are finally getting married in April of 2020! The way Bryan proposed is absolutely adorable. I don’t know about you, but my family always had this tradition where you open up one present on Christmas Eve. Shelby’s family also has this same tradition, and Bryan joined her family for their Christmas Eve tradition. He insisted that Shelby open her present first, and she did, only to find smaller and smaller boxes. Finally, she opened the last box and saw the ring, and looked up to see Bryan down on one knee! Of course she said yes, and they’ve been on this journey ever since!
We met up for the first half of our engagement session at Maymont, and the weather couldn’t have been more enjoyable! Though they haven’t had the opportunity to explore Richmond much, they did have their first date at Maymont! We traveled over to the little tree that they enjoyed climbing and goofing around on the last time they were there, and it was so cute seeing their playful personalities. I knew that I just had to get a piggy back shot with these two, and I think it fits them so well!
Chatting through our session, we talked about how their crazy jobs have them on opposite schedules, but how they always find time for each other. They also mentioned how in a few weeks, they are getting to go to Puerto Rico to visit some of Bryan’s family! It’s a rare opportunity that they’re so excited for, especially since Shelby has only gotten to see them a couple times. Along with getting to spend the week getting some quality family time, Bryan and Shelby are also planning on going zip lining! I can only image the wondrous views that Bryan described, talking about zipping through valleys and massive trees. I’m so happy that they will really get the opportunity to spend some much needed quality time with one another, and also get to go on some fun adventures!
I’m so excited for these two for their upcoming trip! I hope they have a blast getting to see Bryan’s family, and also on all of the adventures that they have planned. I’m also so excited to get to know them better over the course of preparing for their wedding, and for them to embark on that new journey together! Congratulations again, and enjoy some rest and relaxation in Puerto Rico!
