Dreamy Parson’s Point Wedding | Richmond Wedding Photographer
Merry and Ben’s wedding this past weekend at Parson’s Point in Mathew County was an absolute dream! Their family did such an amazing job transforming the property for their lakefront wedding. All of the lights they hung and the stunning florals on the tree over their ceremony spot made it look straight out of a fairytale!
When Merry reached out to me a month ago about their wedding photography, I was over the moon! I met Merry YEARS ago when we both worked at Sonic. Merry was only 16 at the time, and now she’s all grown up and getting married! Merry has always been such a sweet ray of sunshine, and has always been so… well, merry! I’ve always admired how optimistic and positive she can be, no matter how crazy a situation can get. I just love that kind of positivity and determination! I really thought I’d be able to make a little longer through the day before I started crying. But no, we were all crying watching her get ready! Her mother and grandmother quickly teared up, and were just overwhelmed with pride! Merry looked absolutely stunning in her dress, and her bridesmaids were so excited for her.
Before we knew it, it was time for Ben and Merry’s first look! Merry’s bridesmaids excitedly helped her through the house without being seen, over to where Ben was waiting for her. Once he turned around to see his bride, the waterworks started flowing for everyone! The way they looked at each other, and embraced each other, was so heartwarming. Their smiles were ear to ear. They were so thoroughly excited that they were finally getting married, and that they had a special moment to share before the ceremony! After their first look we had a blast taking bridal party portraits, and then it was time for the ceremony!
Their ceremony took place in front of the lake, under a perfectly picturesque tree. Merry and her family spent a long time decorating the tree for the ceremony, and they did such an amazing job! It was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. Even though they shared a first look, Ben still got emotional when he saw Merry walk down the aisle with her father. They excitedly held hands as their officiant began their ceremony. Their officiant shared stories of the many road trips Ben and Merry had with each other, and about how determined Merry was to kiss Ben first!
Merry’s vows had everyone laughing at funny stories she shared, and then tearing up as she described her love for Ben. The way that she described loving Ben, and loving how much he loved her no matter what, was so touching. Ben shared about how much he loves Merry’s laughter and determination, and how she always pushes him to try new things. I was absolutely sobbing through their ceremony! I’m just so happy for Merry, and and so glad that she found someone who loves her endlessly. They are such a great match for each other! In their officiant’s words, they balance each other perfectly. They shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and were finally announced Mr. and Mrs. Richmond!
For their reception, Merry and Ben decided not to have open dancing. Instead, they decided to spend the night playing trivia! This was SUCH an amazing idea! Everyone was having a blast trying to figure out the answers to the questions, and arguing with other tables over who may or may not be cheating. If you are looking for an alternative to dancing at your reception, I highly suggest doing trivia!! It was such a great time for everyone. After trivia was over, it was time for their sparkler exit, and to hop onto the boat taking them to their house for the night!
Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Richmond, and I hope you’re thoroughly enjoying the first few days of being MARRIED!
