Colorful Spring Engagement Session | Richmond Wedding Photographer
I have been so excited for Michelle and Darren’s spring engagement session at Maymont! Not only because it’s so great finally meeting my couples in person, but also because Maymont is such a fun location! So many couples dream of gorgeous spring blooms in their engagement photos, and those can be hard to find in Richmond sometimes. Maymont recently changed their photography policy, allowing for a much easier process of booking sessions on their property. When Michelle and Darren reached out about location suggestions, I was so happy to inform them that Maymont is now a great option!
These two originally met all the way back in middle school. They didn’t become friends until later in high school, but a beautiful friendship bloomed! They spent years hanging out and laughing together with mutual friends, until they started dating during their senior year in college. They’ve now been together for over 5 years! Darren planned a little vacation for them to the beach back in September. They spent the evening walking on a surprisingly secluded beach, with no one but a lone fisherman in sight. Next thing Michelle knew, Darren was down on one knee proposing. Of course Michelle said yes, and they are now excitedly planning their wedding together!
Michelle and Darren brought that same excited and giddiness to their session, and I was all for it! The first thing Michelle mentioned was that she knew her pink dress probably broke a million photography rules, but that she couldn’t NOT wear it. I always love hearing comments like that! I simply asked her, “Do you feel amazing in that dress?” When she replied with a resounding, “YES!” I let her know that it was the perfect dress for their session! The most important thing for your engagement session is always that you FEEL amazing, and that truly resonates through your photos! I mean, just look at their smiles 🙂 Michelle and Darren were so much fun, and Darren did an amazing job with getting Michelle to giggle so much! We even got lucky enough to catch some petals in the wind 🙂
Congratulations again you two, and I can’t wait for your wedding in May next year!
