An Intimate Smoky Mountain Wedding | Virginia Wedding Photographer
This one is near and dear to my heart! Hana is actually a family member of mine, and I’ve been SO excited to photograph her and Kevin’s wedding! These two had their original date last July, and of course, had to postpone a few of their plans. They had a gorgeous ceremony with their parents in Virginia at King Family Vineyards on their original date, and have been waiting patiently for their bigger day with friends and family. That day finally came, and it was time to celebrate with the breathtaking views of the smoky mountains in Tennessee at The Magnolia Venue.
The weekend was a blur of plains and travel plans as everyone got together, and I was so excited to see some of my family again! They live in different states around the country, so I don’t get to see them often. We spent the morning getting ready for the day, and taking in the surroundings. It was impossible to not feel oddly at peace with the scenic views and beautiful weather! Hana and her sister, Hali (my stepmom!), laughed and joked through hair and make up. It was so nice having all of this time to relax and take photos! Hana got to watch me a bit during my favorite part of the day, which was working with her bridal details.
Soon, it was time for the flower boy to arrive. Logan, my half brother, historically does NOT like having his photo taken! As you can imagine, having a photographer as a sister means this little munchkin definitely knows what a camera is – and how to hide from it! Hana had asked him to be her flower boy, and we were so surprised at how excited he was for the wedding. He showed up on the wedding day exclaiming, “It’s time for WEDDING pictures! You have to take pictures of me in my wedding outfit!” We didn’t know who this child was this day, but he decided he wanted to be a total cheese ball and make all of Hana’s adorable flower boy portraits come to life. None of us could handle it once he put his little outfit on! He was just too cute!
The sporadic drizzling of the day stopped just in time for their ceremony to start under the breathtaking open view of the mountains. Walking with his mom, Hali, Logan smiled cheekily at guests as he dutifully tossed his flowers. Hana’s dad, Hal, walked her down the aisle to Kevin, and their ceremony began. They reaffirmed their vows to one another, and finally, in front of friends and family they were announced Mr. and Mrs. Brammeier!
The rest of the day was such a whirlwind of excitement. We had so much time to mingle with guests and take portraits, which was so fun and stress-free! Their reception started with Hana and Kevin’s first dance, to Love Someone by Lukas Graham. They were so excited to be finally getting their celebration with friends and family, and they just couldn’t take their eyes off of each other the whole time. Through all the difficulties they faced planning this day, and the setbacks they faced on the day of, they were so excited to just get to celebrate with the ones they loved most! Not long after the outdoor dance floor was opened, the skies decided to rain once more. I know that most brides might be a little upset at less than ideal weather on their wedding day, but Hana didn’t let it damper the day at all. We had a fun and exciting reception of dancing in the rain under the skies of the smoky mountain that I don’t think any of her guests will forget!
Words can’t describe how happy I am for Hana and Kevin! Congratulations again you two, and I hope your big day was everything you dreamed of 🙂
