A Raven’s Roost Engagement Session with Mountain Views | Virginia Wedding Photographer
Mat and Miranda’s Raven’s Roost Overlook Engagement Session was so much fun! I have been so excited to get to meet these two in person, and they were all smiles when we met up on the Blue ridge Parkway. They showed up to the Raven’s Roost Overlook a little early to enjoy the views and have their own little picnic, with homemade pizzas that they spent the morning on. They were kind enough to even bring along a piece for me! These two are such a sweet couple, who just enjoy every moment of life together!
Matt and Miranda met while they were both in the Peace Corps in Mozambique! They had been dating for about 5 years when Matt suggested they go on an Easter morning hike of Macfee’s Knob. Matt was thinking of a nice 10 am stroll up the mountain, while early bird Miranda immediately began squealing at the thought of a sunrise hike! Matt grudgingly agreed to wake up at 5:00 am to run up to the top of the mountain, realizing that it would be the perfect opportunity for him to finally propose. Being the morning person of the two, Miranda was so sweet on the morning of! She made Matt coffee and drove them to the trailhead. By dawn, Matt, Miranda, and their blue tic beagle had made it to the top for a stunning view! While Miranda immediately began digging in her bag for a sandwich, Matt got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, Miranda said yes! Now, these two are so excited to plan their boho style wedding together!
For their engagement session, we knew that an overlook would be just their style. Matt and Miranda love getting outside and hiking together. Really, they love doing just about anything together! Throughout their session they were full of smiles and laughter, and just couldn’t stop having a blast with each other. Their smiles are just so full of joy! I can tell that their life together centers around the joy they bring each other in every moment of life. I just loved seeing Matt and Miranda being goofy with each other and having so much fun. Between all of their adorable smiles and their well-styled outfits, I’m so in love with their portraits! These two are definitely the best of friends, and I can’t wait for their wedding in May! Congratulations again you two 🙂
