A Fall Wedding with Classic Details | Richmond Wedding Photographer
Ellen and Jordan couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful September day at the historic Hanover Tavern! From having one of Jordan’s best friends officiate, to Ellen’s various meaningful details, they made their wedding day their own in so many different ways! Excitement was in the air as the two got ready, and I just couldn’t get over Ellen’s gorgeous details! Soon, it was time for Ellen’s mom, Kay, to help her into her heirloom dress. Ellen’s great-grandmother, Addie, originally made the dress for Ellen’s grandmother, Marie! Kay also wore the dress for her wedding, and was so excited for Ellen to walk down the aisle and continue the tradition. Maid of Honor, Cecily, laughed with Ellen as she helped with her jewelry. After carefully closing each delicate sleeve button, it was time for everyone to take their places for the ceremony.
Their closest friends and family gathered on the beautiful grounds of the Hanover Tavern for their ceremony. Their harpist began the Dark Souls theme, as Jordan entered with his groomsmen and officiant. Finding his place in front of the arbor, he stood in eager anticipation. As the soft sounds of the Great Fairy Theme from Legend of Zelda began, Ellen made her way down the aisle. Jordan’s smile grew ear to ear as soon as he saw her! Kruger, their friend and officiant, reminded them both to look at each other and remember this moment in time. After exchanging their rings and vows, Ellen and Jordan were finally pronounced husband and wife!
After photos with their families and wedding party, Ellen and Jordan shared a few just married portraits before sneaking away for an outfit change. We had to get at least one portrait with that gorgeous veil! For the reception, Ellen changed into a dress that was made for movement. I just couldn’t get over how beautifully it twirled! We adventured across the street for some sunset portraits (and plenty of laughs!) before it was time for their reception to begin.
Ellen and Jordan entered their reception to a room full of applause and cheers! After a delicious dinner, Cecily and the Best Man, Joshua, both shared toasts and well wishes for the couple. Soon it was time to cut the cake, and enjoy the rest of the night with their guests! Their reception was all about spending time with their loved ones, whether it be by relaxing in the tavern, or enjoying lawn games outside. Guests enjoyed a pie bar complete with chocolate, mixed berry, and pecan pies, with the option to add on whipped cream, strawberries, and chocolate and caramel sauces!
Their sweet and intimate day came to an end with a glorious rose petal toss exit, as Ellen and Jordan left for the night. Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Kniceley, and I hope you’ve enjoyed the first few days of the newlywed life!
