Valentina and John’s Richmond intimate wedding at the Omni Hotel was absolutely stunning! These two tied the knot this past Sunday with some of their closest friends and family. As an added surprise, Valentina’s family was able to travel from Indonesia just in time to attend the festivities! Getting ready was a whirlwind of laughter with friends, and obsessing over all of Valentina’s stunning pink details! Valentina decided to use the veil that Dianne, her mother-in-law, had worn in her own wedding. They hand-stitched a few pink flowers and accents to personalize the veil for Valentina’s day. It was absolutely stunning, and fit Valentina so well. She looked absolutely radiant!

Their ceremony highlighted the love that Valentina and John shared for one another, and their families. As they shared their personal vows to each other, John had also been practicing with Valentina for a surprise for her father, Sudarmin. John turned to Sudarmin and thanked him for welcoming him into his family, in Indonesian. It was such a sweet and touching moment! Valentina and John shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and were finally announced Mr. and Mrs. Doherty!

After some stunning portraits, it was time for their reception! Then Valentina and John entered their reception into their first dance, and then John shared a touching dance with his mother, Dianne. As an ode to their love of exploring Richmond dinner spots on date nights, they had a variety of delicious choices for dinner!

Christine, the Maid of Honor, shared a beautiful toast after dinner. After congratulating the couple, she reminisced about hearing Valentina talk about this guy that she met online during the pandemic. Flashing forward to now, they are the sweetest couple and are such a perfect fit for each other! She reminded guests of how the signature drink of the night, sweat tea, may be John’s favorite drink, but it’s because he’s just so sweet 🙂 She then jokingly commended John on being so sweet to put up with Valentina and her full-hearted love of the color pink.

After cutting the cake, everyone had a blast mingling and catching up with each other! It was such a fun and heartfelt celebration of Valentina and John, and their families coming together 🙂 Congratulations again you two, and I hope you enjoy your honeymoon!
