A Fall VMFA Sculpture Garden Engagement Session | Richmond Wedding Photographer
I finally got to to meet up with Becky and Ran for their fall engagement session at the VMFA last week! Covid has of course continued to throw the world in a loop, and it’s been so hard to find a good time to get together for their session! Ran works in the travel industry, and Becky is an elementary school music teacher, so needless to say they’ve been dealing with a lot of changes lately! I was so glad when we found an evening when everything had settled down for them, since they will be getting married on October 24th!
Becky and Ran met during their freshman year of college. He was a theater major, and Becky was a music major. They ended up having all of their classes in the same building, and kept running into each other! One thing lead to another, and now they’ve been together for almost 6 years! Ran proposed in October of 2018, and I just love their proposal story. Becky had an idea that Ran was going to propose, but Ran was determined to keep her on her toes. Ran took Becky to their favorite restaurant, and made a big deal of walking through the garden and stopping in this really pretty spot. Becky was sure that Ran was about to pop the question, and all of sudden, he just said they were ready to leave for their next destination! Ran took her around to a few of their favorite places in the city, before finally proposing at Maymont. Then, they went over to the Hoff to meet their family who were waiting with champagne at the rooftop bar!
Becky and Ran are clearly two best friends who are so excited to get to spend the rest of their lives together. I loved getting to know them better, along with seeing all of the adorable ways they interact with each other! This was their first time having professional photos done, and Becky kept asking me to let them know if they were being awkward. I assured them that they looked far from awkward! Ran was the absolute best at getting Becky to laugh and show off her gorgeous smile, and I’m just in love with their photos! Congratulations again you two, and I can’t wait for your wedding in just a few weeks!!
