A Fall Virginia House Wedding | Richmond Wedding Photographer
The heat wave that’s been gripping Richmond the last few weeks disappeared just in time, creating the most beautiful day with the most pleasant breeze for Lindsey and Jacob’s Virginia House wedding! I’ve loved getting to know Lindsey and Jacob and the story of their journey together. I just couldn’t wait for their wedding day! Everyone was busily getting ready, eagerly awaiting the ceremony. Lindsey’s friend Samantha was kept especially busy, braiding and curling everyone’s hair into the most stunning styles!
The day was coming together to be quite the fairy tale, and all of the little details helped pull everything together. For her something old and blue, Lindsey chose to wear an earring and necklace set belonging to her grandmother. They paired with the pale blues beautifully! I was also blown away by the stationary for Lindsey and Jacob’s invitations, which I found out Lindsey and her friends and family made! Not only did they do their own printing and wrapping, they literally MADE the paper for their invitations by hand from a pulp as well! Each one was individually molded, filtered, pressed, wrapped, and then stamped. I’m a crafty person myself, but I think we can all agree that Lindsey gets the DIY trophy for this. After many laughs, a few strums on a ukulele, and memory sharing, it was time for Lindsey to get on her dress.
If you’ve read their engagement post from back in July, then you know the touching adventure that Jacob planned for Lindsey through handwritten letters! They all lead her to him as he proposed. Coming full circle, the last thing to do was to each read one final letter before becoming husband and wife. After sharing some sweet moments with her mom, Bobbi, Lindsey was ready to take a seat and read Jacob’s letter. I was tickled pink when I saw this quaint antique couch, and immediately knew this should be where she should read his letter. Lindsey and I giggled about our shared excitement when she mentioned that she had specifically brought it along for photos! With so many testaments of their love documented on paper, it’s so fitting how this signified the beginning of the next chapter in their lives.
Next thing we knew, Jacob was gazing at his beautiful bride walking down the aisle! Witnessing their ceremony, along with the unwavering love and support from their family and friends, was a beautiful experience. I love witnessing others finding their person, and just bursting with pride and joy for each other. Their love is something written in the stars by god, and their relationship is so clearly blessed. Jacob actually works here at St. Bridget’s church, and it clearly meant so much to them to be married by those they know and love so well.
After they finally said, “I do,” it was time for the reception! I learned during their engagement session what amazing dancers Lindsey and Jacob are. I was so excited to see what they would have planned for their first dance! A quick outfit change later, and they were out on the dance floor for a swing routine to Frank Sinatra’s, “L.O.V.E,” that had everyone swooning. The rest of the reception was full of belly-laugh causing speeches, touching special dances with family, and excitement filled party dancing! Everyone was so happy to get to come together and celebrate the new chapter in Lindsey and Jacob’s life together. Congratulations again you two, and I hope you enjoy your upcoming honeymoon in St. Thomas!
