A Virginia House Wedding with Fall Decor | Richmond Wedding Photographer
Lauryn and Andrew’s Virginia House Wedding was such a wonderful day! After over 10 years together, they were finally able to share their vows in front of family and friends. The day was a beautiful whirlwind of everyone getting ready, and the gorgeous sights of the house grounds! Lauryn is an archeologist, and was so excited to capture the stunning structure of the Virginia House in her photos. She brought along a mid-18th century Tin-glazed delft tile to have her rings photographed on, and I think it was a gorgeous way to incorporate that even further in their photos!
The back of the house provided the perfect backdrop for one of the most touching father- daughter first looks that I’ve had the privilege to photograph 🙂 Lauryn’s father, Chris, exclaimed in awe as soon as he saw Lauryn! Pulling her in for a kiss on the cheek, they both teared up and shared their excitement. Next it was time for Lauryn’s first look with Andrew! In front of the breathtaking view of the Virginia House, Lauryn and Andrew embraced as they saw each other for the first time. They giggled and kissed, and excitedly shared their wedding gifts with each other. Lauryn surprised Andrew with a banjolele, and Andrew gifted Lauryn two beautiful Vang Gogh inspired earrings! Their bridal party joined for some group portrait fun, and everyone had a blast chatting and sharing congratulations as guests arrived.
Soon, it was time for Chris to walk Lauryn down the aisle to Andrew. Guests teared up as Chris and Andrew shared a hug at the alter, and the ceremony began. Dan Van Horne, their officiant, shared wise words of love, while also bringing out chuckles of laughter with humorous advice. As they looked into each other’s eyes, Lauryn and Andrew shared their vows. After exchanging their rings, Lauryn and Andrew were finally announced Mr. and Mrs. Sharp! Following the ceremony we got to explore the back gardens for some incredibly fun and romantic sunset portraits. We were all reminded of their engagement session, and I just love that these two are always up for an adventure to get some gorgeous light!
Lauryn and Andrew entered their Maymont Nature Reception, and the started the night with their first dance. They danced to Crystal by Stevie Nicks, as their guests cheered and congratulated them from their seats. After some touching parent dances and a welcome speech, friends and family shared some toasts with the bride and groom. Stuart, Andrew’s best man, “flew,” through an incredible amount of bird puns to highlight Andrew’s birding hobby! After the entertaining toasts, everyone danced the night away on the dance floor and celebrated Lauryn and Andrew. Congratulations again Mr. and Mrs. Sharp!
