HEY! I'M

A Vintage Garden Wedding at Virginia Tech | Miranda & Matt

A Vintage Inspired Spring Wedding at the Hahn Horticulture Garden | Virginia Wedding Photographer

Matt and Miranda said, “I do,” at their vintage wedding in Virginia Tech’s Hahn Horticulture Garden! These two first met halfway around the world while serving in the Peace Corps. After 7 years of the best friendship and caring love, everyone was so excited to celebrate their marriage! Friends and family flew in from all over the country, including Oregon, Wyoming, and California to see them tie the knot. After a morning full of laughter, Miranda and her bridesmaids shared some happy tears while getting her into her dress! Her details were close to heart, with each ring holding such sentimental value as she put them on. After slipping into her blue wedding shoes, the traditional “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue,” was complete. Miranda’s contagious smile had the whole room bursting with joy, as they prepared for her first look with Matt!

Matt was all smiles as he laid eyes on Miranda! They both kept saying in wonder and excitement, “it’s really happening!” It was finally time to take their places for their ceremony. Guests teared up as Miranda’s father, Nick, walked her down the vintage carpeted aisle to her groom. As the ceremony began, they couldn’t keep their eyes off of each other! Their officiant spoke about the most precious gift entrusted to human beings: the ability and desire to love. He remarked that spouses are best friends, confidants, teachers, companions, listeners, and critics in order to complement one another. They began a handfasting ceremony, in which the cords represent their unique connection, their trust in one another, and serve as a promise to build their life together. Miranda and Matt’s mothers, Trish and Michelle, each spoke additional vows and presented them with a cord. As the cords were tied around their wrists, Matt and Miranda were finally announced husband and wife with a round of applause from their guests!

They entered their garden reception with their first dance, twirling along to, “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” After a round of toasts, Matt and Miranda cut their cake and kicked off the night of joy filled events! Guests enjoyed the live band, The Whiskey Rebellion, as they showed off their dance moves, took photos for the guestbook, and wrote the couple notes. Friends and family also mingled on the vintage couches, and enjoyed tasty treats from the dessert bar complete with macrons, cookies, and vegan cupcakes! It was a fantastic night of love and laughter, as everyone came together to celebrate Matt and Miranda!

Congratulations again you two, and I hope you’ve enjoyed the first few days of being newlyweds!

(Their FANTASTIC planner, Heather Lea Events, is also a past KBP bride! I had so much fun getting to work with her again!)
