A Black and White Styled Wedding | Richmond Wedding Photographer
Shelby and Bryan’s Virginia Cliffe Inn summer wedding was absolutely beautiful! The August weather took a break for the day to give us the most pleasant breeze and temperatures. Shelby and Bryan met back in high school, and have been waiting for SO LONG to get married! After having to reschedule their date, we were all so excited that their day had finally arrived.
Shelby’s maid of honor, Kaity, Bryan’s mom, Ana, and Shelby’s mom, Cindy all helped Shelby get ready for the day. Kaity was so prepared with whatever Shelby needed! Cindy gave Shelby her late grandmother’s pearl necklace, and beamed with pride at her beautiful daughter! With the last detail in place, it was time for Shelby and Bryan’s first look.
I love first looks because they are such sweet moments! When Bryan turned around to see Shelby, the reaction from the two of them was just so sweet. These best friends embraced each other, and teared up as they excitedly showed each other their full ensembles. They were absolutely giddy with each other! After a few portraits, it was finally time for them to take their places for the ceremony.
The sun shone beautifully as the wedding party processed down the aisle. Shelby’s dad, David, walked her down the aisle and embraced Bryan in a hug. Their ceremony was so sweet, with their officiant sharing stories of the two. She reminded guests of how Bryan finally proposed on December 31, 2016, with a present hidden in a labyrinth of boxes. She also shared that what Shelby loves most about Bryan is his ability to always push her to try new things, and giving her a confidence in life she’d never thought she’d have. These two are the absolute best of friends, and I couldn’t help but shed a tear as they were finally announced Mr. and Mrs. Gautier!
After some gorgeous family, bridal party, and just married portraits, it was time for their reception! Shelby and Bryan’s first dance was so sweet, and then Shelby’s dad, David, twirled her around the reception to “Dance with my Daughter,” by Jason Blaine. De Rican Chef catered the event with authentic puerto rican cuisine that was absolutely delicious! After dinner, Bryan’s dad, Mundy, gave a toast welcoming Shelby to the family. Soon it was time to cut their intricate cake, made by their friend Johana! Their cake, along with a few of their reception decorations, signified their love of legos. Bryan is quite the collector! Along with their main cake, they also had a separate lego themed Tres Leches Cake. Shelby assured Bryan that there weren’t going to be smashing cake in each other’s faces, but of course, as soon as they cut the cake Shelby couldn’t resist!
The night was full of fun and amazing dancing, along with a game table that Shelby and Bryan set up to enjoy with their friends. Uno is always an eventful game! Finally, the night was over, and it was time to end their reception with a sparkler exit. I had such a great time getting to know these two and their families! Congratulations again Shelby and Bryan, and I hope you enjoy your first few days as Mr. and Mrs. Gautier!
