Spring Hanover Wedding with Bold Details | Hanover Wedding Photographer
Emily and Stephen’s spring Hanover wedding was an absolute dream! We were given the most gorgeous spring day, and couldn’t have asked for better weather. After many months of planning throughout the pandemic, Emily and Stephen’s family and friends were finally able to gather to celebrate their love! They had so many fun things planned for their day, and I was so excited to see their vision come to life. When I arrived, everyone was busy putting together all of the details for the day, including the stunning arch handcrafted by Emily’s father, Bill! Brandi (their AMAZING coordinator!) was perfecting the reception space. Emily and her bridesmaids were busy getting ready, aided by Emily and Stephen’s adorable pooch, Kiki!
After a whirlwind morning of getting ready, laughter, and tearful first looks, it was finally time for the ceremony! Stephen walked down the aisle to take his place under the arch, and Emily’s uncle and her father’s band played music while the ceremony began. Guests giggled as the Ring Security made their way down the aisle, followed by the flower girl Kiki and her adorable attendants! Finally, guests rose as Emily and Bill walked down the aisle. After a sweet hug to her mother, Peggy, Emily joined Stephen under the arch.

Guests teared up and laughed, along with Emily and Stephen, to the kind and witty words of their officiant, Casey. Casey is actually Emily’s cousin, and clearly put so much time into writing their ceremony! Casey brought up the chances of Emily and Stephen even meeting. Emily is originally from South Korea, and soon made the 6577 mile trip to Hanover, Virginia after being adopted. Stephen’s family had also moved around, and settled in a neighboring town. They attended neighboring high schools, living 20 miles away from each other, until a fateful night at Tobacco Company Club.
Years later, they had a beautiful and strong relationship, and invited Kiki into their lives! Everyone laughed as Casey reminded them of how Stephen hiked up a mountain with a torn ACL to propose to Emily, so that she’d get the perfect view for photos. Soon it was time for the sand ceremony, and to exchange the rings. After a beautifully humorous and tearful ceremony, Emily and Stephen shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and they were officially Mr. and Mrs. Sink!!
After a gorgeous cocktail hour full of sunset portraits and entertainment from Emily’s father’s band, it was time for the reception! Emily had a surprise entrance planned for her bridal party, and even I wasn’t let in on the secret. I was so excited to see what they had planned, and boy was I impressed! After the fun entrances of the bridal party, Emily and Stephen entered their reception on hoverboards! Guests cheered and laughed as they rolled around the dance floor into their first dance, where they were soon joined by Kiki. If guests weren’t crying yet, then their sweet parent dances definitely did the trick!
The Best Man, Chris, and Maid of Honor, Brittany, shared amazing toasts, followed by touching words from Emily’s parents, Bill and Peggy. After cutting the cake, the party was in full swing! Friends and family had a blast dancing, singing, and admiring all of the delicious late night donuts. Congratulations again Emily and Stephen, and I hope you are enjoying your honeymoon!
